We believe that children are a gift from the Lord (Ps. 127:3), and parents have the responsibility to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6:4). As a church, we desire to come alongside parents in this process by helping to lay a biblical foundation in children's lives. Since we seek to instill in our children a love for God and obedience to His purposes for the church, we call our children's ministries Foundations of First.
Our goal is to lovingly teach children to worship God, grow together, serve others, and reach the world, all in age-appropriate ways that cultivate a passion for God and His people.
We provide a nursey ministry for our youngest attenders for every service, and our staff consists of loving workers who are carefully screened members of our church.
During our Sunday School and Adult Grow Seminars (9:30 a.m. on Sundays) and our Worship Service (10:30 a.m.) we have a Tiny Tots ministry for 2 and 3 year old children. Here we begin laying the foundation with Bible stories and application.
Children of all ages are invited to age-specific Sunday School classes (9:30 a.m.) where they will continue to build on their foundation of biblical knowledge of God's truth.
In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, we hold a Children’s Church service for ages 4-6 in conjunction with the Worship Service (10:30 a.m.). This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly Children’s Church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from songs, to games, to object lessons.
Our older children (ages 7-9) begin with their parents in the Worship Service (10:30 a.m.) and on 4th Sundays go to their own Jr. Church service before the message. Here they continue to grow in their knowledge of the Bible, as well as their understanding of God's mission for the church.
On Sunday nights from 5:30-7:00 p.m. during the school year (September-May), we run an Awana program to teach our children to memorize Scripture and apply it to their lives. During the summer months, we have a special program for children from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Every summer we have a Vacation Bible School for children entering 1st-6th grade.
